It’s time to make Nino itch!

Have you noticed when you expose those without Christ or even those that say they are in Christ to rich fundamental truth they become uncomfortable. Why is it especially when they claim to be saved yet are afraid to truly engage in the conversation. I’m left wondering have they really excepted Christ as Lord of their lives. Do we as Christians expose them for who they really are? Mere victims of the victimizer?

In the movie “New Jack City”, the call was made to the character “Don Amateo” that Nino was about to itch. What does that mean? In the street vernacular they wanted to send him a message they really wanted to get under the skin of the kingpin.

What are we willing to sacrifice for our Lord? We are called out of bondage to serve Him yet once freed we seemingly forget what the mission was or we’re afraid of the consequences of all that’s at stake. For many of us its very scary to share the gospel with others. But, that’s exactly what we’re called to do. John Piper recently delivered a message at the “T4G” conference titled ” How the Supremacy of Christ creates radical christian sacrifice” if you want to listen to it visit click on the “T4G” icon and find the message. Its an awesome call to action!

In today’s Christian Post. Chuck Colson wrote “Out of The Pew” he asks “ If your church disappeared tomorrow, would your local community even notice? Would it be missed? What vital, world-redeeming tasks would be left undone? He goes on further in the post as he tells the story of William Wilberforce.. ” So back to you and your church: Are you simply minding your own business or just caring for the needs within the four walls of the church building? Or does your Christianity have legs and arms, as well as heart and mind? When Wilberforce first converted to Christ, his life-long friend William Pitt—the youngest Prime Minister in English history—reminded him,Surely the principles as well as the practice of Christianity are simple and lead not to meditation only, but to action.” emphasis mine

You might ask yourself the same haunting question: If you were to exit the drama of life stage right this very evening, what difference would it make?”

To follow Christ’s teaching means to bring that teaching to life. It means that you and I need to be change-agents.”

Its funny that he uses the term change-agents, the church I attend is New Beginnings Cathedral and Pastor Williams sermon series this month is titled “Agents of Change.”

Its time for Christians to make a difference. Its time for Christians to make the world itch! Stand up for truth! Time out for cowering because we are afraid we may offend others. I mean think about it don’t we take offense when we are asked to forsake our Christian liberties?  But we first have to start with ourselves.

When we look back over the history of Christianity. Christians stopped fighting because they were tired of losing their lives. Can you blame them? But, whats more important earthly gain or eternal salvation?

One day we all will have to give an account. What will you say that will justify your deeds after you were called to serve?

Apathy because we feel that we have all the time in the world is no longer acceptable. James reminds us of this in v4:13-17 “come now, you who say, “Today or tomorrow we will go to such and such a city, spend a year there, buy and sell, and make a profit”; whereas you do not know what will happen tomorrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapor that appears for a little time and then vanishes away. Instead you ought to say, ” if the Lord wills, we shall live and do this or that.” But now you boast in your arrogance. all such boasting is evil. Therefore, to him who knows to do good and does not do it, to him it is sin.”
